Omission of final D
Use the same procedure the omission of 't' in the last unit. Read through the drills in various ways and learn these. It's not hard after a while.
You will see sometimes the d is written. Also note the disjoined 'd' sound written with a 't'.
If you ever aren't sure, just write it the best way you can in dictation, and then correct it if you choose to (so you can read any other anniversary books).
Brief Form Deriative Drill This drill will help you learn the brief forms more thoroughly. You will also learn ways of writing the brief form when you need to add a word beginning or ending to it. Review this drill thoroughly.

One way to do this during dictation is to keep the right column of your Gregg Ruled notebook free. Just write on the left hand side. When you finish your dictation, look up the words in a dictionary if needed, and write the corrected outline several times.
