This is the first week when you study the Unit. Just read through it and learn it. Anni has more rules and word lists then the Fuctional method.
If you wish to learn this manual similar to the functional method which has the "key" at the end of the manual, place a piece of paper over the printed words and read the shorthand outlines. A thick piece of paper should cover it enough or a dark color paper. Then you can read the outlines without the aid of a "transcript" and see how you do
You can read the lists down columns all the way through the unit. Then read the next column through the entire unit. And continue if there is a 3rd and 4th column.
Then read from the end of the column to the start of the column. And continue from the end of a column to the start of the column.
Read across in rows. You could even skip a row and then come back to read every other row (the one's you skipped).
You can make flash cards of the brief forms. When you add to them, review ALL the flash cards.
READING the Reading and dictation Practice First read this post if you want to try it yourself.
I've done the first two units so far; I'll do unit 3 later tonight. I feel a little like I'm "cheating" since these first two were review for me and I've practiced a fair bit with just that beginner's knowledge, but starting tonight it'll be all new material!
I'm going to catch up to where Arthaey was soon — well, I've caught up actually after doing tonight's (unit 4). Tomorrow will be new territory for me.
Instead of doing writing this month, I'm going to trace over what's in the pdf of the manual while reading, and do (reverse) dictation/transcription. I'll use the dictation to practice writing next month, following the same unit/day model and see how that works.
