This is in response to a long discussion under the general board
HERE and since there was a little activity and some differing opinions, I decided a sub topic board could be created.
Please note: If you feel like you would like a sub board on your religious text and books you'd like to write in shorthand and share here, I can do that, just let me know. I will create a sub forum in the Books in Shorthand just like this one.
This entire forum is here because there was varying opinion of which bible version to use. For example,
this site shows a variety of versions (this is for Matthew 1).
Also there was a discussion on which version of Gregg Shorthand to use.
This sub forum is to solve those problems.
Create a new thread for the version of the bible and Gregg Shorthand you will be using in writing the Bible in Gregg Shorthand.
Q&A:Q-I want a sub forum on my religious text!? It's not really the "bible" and it's not Christian or whatever you want to call it.
A-See above, but the basic answer is I will do that for you.
Q-How will this stay in order of the Bible?
A-In your first post you can link the various chapters and verses written in the thread. So, for example, someone writes Matthew 5 and someone next writes Matthew 1, you will have links (I can help) in your first post of the order of the Bible of your choosing.
Q-I want my own thread with my own shorthand for the Bible? Bascialy I don't want help. I want to do this on my own but offer it to others to read.
A-Sure, just note that in the first post and hopefully others will be considerate.
Q-I want others to contribute to my thread, is that ok?
A-Yes. Please do so. Please remember that you will be the "Original Poster" and you will "OWN" that thread. This means when others contribute you may need to keep track. You will also have to update the first post on a regular basis. But this will allow you to be the "moderator" of that thread (let me know if anything needs done, just PM me).
Q-I forgot to put the bible and shorthand version in my subject heading, what now?
A-You can edit the first post or I will for you. PM me if you need me to do that for you. Remember, just something like "King James Version in Anniversary Edition" is sufficient.
Q-How do I add pictures and attachments?
A-
See Adding or Viewing Images.Q-I only know a little shorthand, what can I do to contribute?
A-Offer words you come across and use the shorthand dictionary from your version. It may be slow but you can go word by word and contribute it when you can.
Q-I have limited time, how can I help?
A-PM the originator of the post and ask what verses they would like written. Or offer some verses and see what they have. In most cases, one verse is all that is needed, the OP will decide on that but I think it's a good idea so it gets finished. Later the verses an be put in order.
Q-I want to contribute, but don't know where the writer is at in the Bible? Where do I start?
A-PM the originator of the post and ask what verses they would like written. Or offer some verses and see what they have.
Q-I just want to write some verses in shorthand and don't care where they go or what's being done. Can I do that and post them?
A-YES. If there are more then one person working on the same verse, it's possible they're using different versions of the bible or Gregg shorthand. Also it would be nice to see different handwriting of shorthand from various people.
Q-I've written some in shorthand, what do I do now?
A-Feel free to start a new thread, but other's may link to your thread if it fits in their their version of shorthand and their version of the bible. So remember, have the subject line with the bible and shorthand version in it.
Any other questions or thoughts, please let me know.
