My shorthand partner wasn't feeling good today, so I tried my hand at wishing he feels better soon: I tried self-correcting (as you can see above). Here's my second attempt:

I already knew the brief form G for "good", but I had to look up M-ING for "morning".

My friend & I have assigned ourselves "homework" reading through the "Graded Readings in Gregg Shorthand" (1919). First lesson, lesson 1, plate 1 is riveting stuff, let me tell you... I look forward to progressing my reading skill quickly, so I don't have to keep reading things like "Ana can make a neat hat."

The Graded Readings inspired me to write my own riveting sentences! "Limn a lame lamb limb." You know, for all your illuminated books on disabled animals.

Okay, now I think I really have found an ambiguous outline! Couldn't this equally be "app" A-P or the brief form for "that" TH-A?

It looks like "that" to me. It's curved more to the right.

Here's a quick outline of both. I then wrote it again with the direction of how it would be written. Even with my "that" looking close to the word"app", you can see is different. By the way, we don't draw outlines greggshorthand.proboards.com/thread/1043/ Attachments:

That's a subtle difference, but I do see it. Thank you! And yes, point taken on "draw" vs "write." Next question: Longhand transcription: Why is there no "W"?

A discussion here (buried deep) on the Letter "w".

Context: I spend alllllll day looking for something to wear to my cousin's wedding. UGH. Longhand transcription: "I hate clothes shopping."

I'm sure there are brief forms for the days of the week, but I haven't learned them yet. So I just spelled it out for now: Longhand: "The books will arrive on Wednesday."

"My books arrived!" (I found a discussion on the Gregg blog about how there's no official way of doing an exclamation point. This variant was one that several people said they used, and I like it, so that's what I wrote.)

That explanation point works for me. I just use a longhand one, I think.
I think the first book of the FM was used more and that's why yours and mine look more used.
