If you don't transcribe your shorthand right away, you could go back and insert the dots and dashes for vowels. Just make sure that you have a note somewhere that you've done that so you don't think it's something else or a mistake or just a scratch from the pen you made when you were writing.
Pre-anniversary manual had an interested part. The outlines that they wrote with no-consonants. These would include a dot or dash to distinguish which word it is. Although the 'h' is a dot, but it's interesting to see the word and outline with these.
